Eyal Golan, (Hebrew: אייל גולן‎; born April 12, 1971), is a popular Israeli singer who sings in the Mizrahi style. Golan is one of the most successful singers of the Mizrahi genre in Israel. Except for his debut album, all of his studio albums became platinum albums, and most were sold in hundreds of thousands of copies, Eyal Golan's channel on YouTube has garnered over 77 million views as of January 2012[1] with 21 of his videos having garnered over a million views, and seven have garnered over 3 million views making him one of Israel's most clicked artists.

Biography

Eyal Golan was born on April 12, 1971 to Ronit Jamil and Daniel (Dani) Biton, in the neighborhood of "Kfar Marmorek" in Rehovot, where he lived until 2010. Today he lives in a luxury building in Tel Aviv.

First Stage: 1995 - 1996

Golan started performing in nightclubs at the age of 20. His first album, "Whisper in the Night" was released in 1995. In 1996 he put out another album, called "Live Performance," which included songs from famous Israeli singers such as Shlomo Artzi.

Collaboration with Ethnix: 1997 - 2000

In 1996 the members of the Ethnix Band Zeav Nechama & Tamir Kliski were searching for a Mizrachi Singer to whom they will produce a Music album. The two saw Golan in a concert in the "Chava" Club in Petah Tikva, and decided Golan is the right candidate for such album.

After Collaboration with Ethnix: 2000 - 2007

Eyal was managed for a long time by producer Ishai Ben Zur, who was responsible for the success of many of Eyal's albums. However, because of a money dispute, they are currently not working together any more.

Greatest Success: 2008 and on

In 2008 Golan put out the album "Imagine you facing me" in less than 2 months over 145,000 albums were sold.

Television

On February 20, 2011 Eyal Golan introduced a new reality show on channel 24 called "Eyal Golan Calls You" where he is searching for the next Mizrachit Music Singer together with Yosi Gispan, Adi Leon & Yaron Elan. On April 12, 2011 The same day Golan celebrated his 40th Birthday the season finalle took place In Oman 17 Club where Moran Mazor was announced the winner.

Personal life

On September 12, 2002 Golan married the Miss Israel of 2001 Ilanit Levi. The couple's eldest son Liam was born in 2003, and their youngest daughter Alin was born in 2006. In October 2008 the couple decided to divorce.

On August 13, 2009 Golan decided to expand and go beyond his musical career by introducing a cologne after his initials called "EGO".
